SEND improvement quarterly update - April 2024
Here is the first of our regular quarterly updates on improvements to SEND services in Hertfordshire, demonstrating how we are making progress against the priority and improvement areas outlined in the local area SEND inspection report.
Music leaders’ and music teachers' development day (with Hertfordshire Music Service) - subsidised cost for schools
This one-day face-to-face event is aimed at music leaders and teachers of music from across the primary and secondary age range. Bringing together colleagues who maybe newer and/or less experienced with more experienced and specialist teachers, to create a community and shared musical experience. All levels of musical experience welcome – this day is designed to be inclusive, and aims to build confidence, develop knowledge and be an enjoyable experience for all who attend.
ESSENTIALMATHS v2.0 – launching in June 2024
Since 2017, HFL Education advisers have worked with teachers to make the most effective use of the ESSENTIALMATHS materials in their classrooms, gathering feedback from schools and noting ways to make it even better. Having revised many aspects of it and adding new resources and taking it onto to a new online platform with additional functionality, ESSENTIALMATHS v2.0 will be launching this June.
RE@ Herts Summer Newsletter
The latest edition of Hertfordshire SACRE’s newsletter RE@Herts has been published. This edition covers the publication of the Ofsted RE Subject Review, and also includes a wealth of information about RE training courses both local and national including ‘Planning for and embedding the Herts Agreed Syllabus for RE’ and links to resources to support RE, including the RE Quality Mark and RE Hubs.
New term, new magazine
We are delighted to be able to share our new publication with you. Term Times is a small magazine from HFL Education, packed full of interesting articles about issues affecting schools, and information which we hope might be useful to you, plus, a carefully curated selection of training events which we hope might fit with your CPD needs.
Two new initiatives for neurodivergent children and young people
The Toolbox from Mindler is a dedicated webpage specifically focussing on ADHD and Autism support for children and young people. The Toolbox offers inspirational content, self-help tools, interactive livestreams, anonymous text chat service (to ask any questions they may have about Neurodiversity) and lots of other resources and information.
