MEd in Teaching and Learning Programme

This successful Master's programme has been running for nine years.

Each year Hertfordshire supports twenty teachers in following the MEd programme on a part-time basis. This takes two years to complete. It is important that students are able to attend residential and evening sessions.

The pattern of sessions each term are:

  • One Friday/Saturday residential session in Cambridge

  • Four or five sessions (4.30pm-8.00pm) normally based at Hertfordshire Development Centre

For assessment, students are required to submit:

  • Two assignments of 6,000 words focused on or associated with their area of interest within teaching and learning

  • A thesis of between 15,000-20,000 words

The thesis is submitted at the end of the second year and should describe the processes and products of a school-based research and development project.
