- To promote and organise the Hertfordshire Well Being Programme and develop a range of activities and training to support schools with the implementation of strategies to improve the well being of all their staff.
- To develop Authority wide activities which support schools with the retention of staff including taking prime responsibility for administering and evaluating the exit survey and for liaising on and promoting any key worker housing or other initiatives that arise from time to time
- To support schools and governing bodies, alongside the Herts HR team, with developing effective employment policies and practices and offering guidance, advice, training and development so that all schools in Hertfordshire become good employers
- To work with heads, governors and the Senior Adviser for School Leadership in Hertfordshire to develop support for the well being of headteachers and senior leaders in schools

To maintain a professional library service which;
- Provides information and resources to assist all staff and governors in schools to improve the management of schools and children's centres, delivery of the curriculum and achievement of pupils
- Supports the staff of School Standards and Effectiveness (SSE) and other Children, Schools and Families (CSF) professionals in their work with, and delivery of, in-service training of the above
- Provides appropriate resources to support the continual professional development of CSF and school staff at all levels.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of government policy and practical information and disseminate this to staff of SSE.
