  • To offer a well-constructed high-quality programme of training and development for all staff working in schools

Recruitment, Retention & Workforce Modernisation, Well-being

  • To promote and organise the Hertfordshire Well Being Programme and develop a range of activities and training to support schools with the implementation of strategies to improve the well being of all their staff.
  • To develop Authority wide activities which support schools with the recruitment and retention of staff
  • To promote teaching in Hertfordshire schools
  • To advise on routes into teaching, including supporting the University of Hertfordshire and the Alban Federation in recruitment for the Graduate Teacher Programme
  • To support schools and governing bodies, alongside the Herts HR team, with developing effective employment policies and practices and offering guidance, advice, training and development so that all schools in Hertfordshire become good employers
  • To work with heads, governors and the Senior Adviser for School Leadership in Hertfordshire to develop support for the well being of headteachers and senior leaders in schools
  • To develop the provision of traded support and training for schools in all of these areas
