HR Services Portal

The HfL HR Services knowledge portal is accessible via a login on the Herts for Learning website. The portal provides a wealth of materials including streamlined policies (consulted upon with recognised trade unions which means that schools and academies don’t have to) template letters, basic and specialist practice notes and a news bulletin feature where you will find regular education/employment news.
The portal is free for all schools which subscribe to our HR service subscription package.

Subscribing schools now have access to the HR portal via their own individual school account logins (rather than a shared login) on the new Herts for Learning website, launched in November 2017.

Details were emailed individually to schools after half term. If this did not reach you or you are otherwise unable to access the portal, please call: 01438 844893 or email

The previously communicated shared login for Hertfordshire schools was withdrawn at the end of December 2017, so schools must access the HR portal with their new individual login.

You can also create sub-accounts for members of staff and control who accesses the HR portal within your school.
