Why is Stonehill School Web Site of the Month?

  • This is an excellent site that has been regularly updated.  The pages are colourful and contain a good balance of animated graphics and photographs which help to make the pages fun, as well as being interesting and informative.
  • It is easy to navigate around the site and to find information quickly.
  • The site is designed around a template which has been applied to every page, this helps to keep the pages consistent.
  • The gallery pages are of very good quality, they contain photographs alongside a description providing useful information about what the children have been learning about.

Further development ideas:

  • Some of the information on the newsletter page could be archived as it currently dates back to 2005. This could be easily cut down to just a year and still be very useful for visitors.
  • Some of the photographs could be a little smaller in size so that they load faster on the page.
  • Some of the file sizes of the pages on the site are a little large for example; the council page currently contains 44 images that take over 189.35 seconds to load on a 56K modem. Ideally, this page should be no more than 30 seconds.
  • The website could make better use of style sheets which would make the site more accessible for people with disabilities that could be using a screen reader.

Overall, the Stonehill School website is an excellent site.
