Why is Cherry Tree Primary School Web
Site of the Month?
- This site wins the website of the month award for its consistent layout and smart presentation.
- There is good use of templates and stylesheets used throughout the site. This helps to keep site mainenance quick and easy whilst still keeping the site accessibile for people who may be using a screen reader to browse around the site.
- The navigation features pictures taken around the school; this is an original idea which works well on the site.
Further development ideas:
- It is not always apparent that some links on the site are to PDF or word documents, by adding the text File type: PDF, File Size: ??KB, Document Date: ?? next to each of these links would make the pages much more user-friendly.
- Some of the graphics (particularly on the classes' pages) could do with more information about what the pupils were learning and which topic is being covered at the time of creation.
- Adding an obvious way of getting back to the home page on all the pages would make the site easier to navigate around.
Overall, the Cherry Tree Primary School website
is an excellent site.
