Why is Field Infant and Nursery School Web
Site of the Month?
- This site has been live in its current form for many years although it still looks fresh and interesting as it has been regularly updated with latest news and dates by a member of staff at the school.
- The site uses a template which has been applied to all the pages on the site. This helps to keep the site consistent, user-friendly and easier to edit.
- PDF documents have been extensively used on the site which provide a quick, professional way to make updates. PDF documents are useful for information such as a school prospectus, policies, curriculum plans and newsletters.
- There are some lovely graphics on the site which provide the pages with colour and help to make the text more readable.
Further development ideas:
- The site would benefit from using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). This should speed up editing the site as well as making it more accessible for people that are using screen readers to browse around the website.
- Additional content that would be good to add to the site would be The Freedom of Information Policy and the Fair Processing Notice. These pieces of information are recommended for all schools to publish on their school websites.
Overall, the Field Infant and Nursery School website
is an excellent site.
