Why is Garden Fields JMI School Web
Site of the Month?
- There is a good selection of images (particularly on the home page) which help to create a positive impression of the school.
- The site is clearly laid out and everything is in a logical, easy to find place.
- Having the latest the news published on the home page is a lovely idea. It shows the site is updated reguarly and serves as a very useful reminder.
- There is good use of PDF files and powerpoint presentations. They have published the file size and specified that it is either a PDF document or a powerpoint presentation along side the link, this is very useful information for visitors and makes the pages really user-friendly.
Further development ideas:
- The information that is contained in the scrolling banner could be published as as a text only version on the site. This will help visitors that are using a screen reader and may not have access to the scrolling banner or visitors that do not have javascript enabled in their browser settings.
- Could introduce a bit more colour to the site which would make large pieces of text easier to speed read.
Overall, the Garden Fields website
is an excellent site.
