CPD Networks - Summer 2008

Inclusion Development Programme and Sharing Good Practice

The focus of the CPD Network sessions were the Inclusion Development Programme (IDP) and sharing good practice.

The IDP is a four year programme of CPD Materials developed through the National Strategies and aims to ensure that the school workforce feels confident and skilled in meeting the diverse needs of pupils in their schools. Materials in the IDP will support developing high quality inclusive provision and narrowing the achievement gap.

The focus for this year’s work will be on Speech, Language, Communication needs and Dyslexia. The CPD Network sessions this term will focus on:

  • enabling SENCos/INCos to become familiar with the materials
  • consider the leadership role of the SENCo/INCo in promoting the materials within their school, particularly in developing provision for speech, language and communication needs
  • examples from practitioners in the area about what makes a difference in developing inclusive provision in their school or cluster

The IDP materials are web-based and are available at:
