Access Arrangements
Access Arrangements Summary 2011-2012 - Issue 11 Updated
This is a summary of parts of the JCQ regulations and guidance regarding access arrangements and reasonable adjustments relating to general and vocational qualifications which is published annually by JCQ:
The regulations set out the responsibilities of Heads of Centre and will be of interest to Heads of Centre, examinations officers, specialist teachers and SENCos in secondary schools and colleges.
CSF3800 Specialist Teacher Register for Exam Access Arrangements
In order to help schools organise Access Arrangements for GCE, VCE, GCSE, Entry Level and Key Skills, CSF have published a register of specialist teachers who are able to assess students and complete the relevant section of JCQ/AA/LD Form 8.
This register is a list of teachers who have a qualification previously required for assessing for Access Arrangements and have asked for their names to be included. Please note that the teachers have not shown evidence of their specialist qualification or CRB checks and therefore checking is the responsibility of the school.
Copies have been sent to all secondary school SENCos. Further copies can downloaded from this site.

Inclusion Registers
The following Inclusion Registers can be used by schools to carry out an audit of needs:
Early Years Inclusion Register
KS1 Onwards Inclusion Register
KS3 Inclusion Register
HCC Inclusion Register
This report can be imported by following the link below.
Once the report is imported by the school onto SIMs.net it produces an inclusion register as an excel spreadsheet which is populated from information in SIMs.net to display data about pupils in vulnerable groups. The inclusion register will also populate any provision that has been entered onto SIMs.net.
Primary schools using HCC Assessment Manager templates will also be able to display assessment data and apply various filters to help them track the progress of pupils in vulnerble groups.

Exceptional Needs Funding Application Form Examples New
These examples have been compiled by members of the District Support Advisory Group and reflect the good practice that has been seen in many of the applications over the past year. The examples are provided to support you in the writing of your own applications. The cases themselves are not real children for whom decisions have been made. They reflect best practice in presenting information about a child and therefore may or may not be exceptional in their entirety.

Inclusive Teaching and Learning Checklists
The following inclusion checklists, although from the Primary National Strategy, have also been found to be very useful for secondary schools. They can be used in a number of ways: focused lesson observations, school self-evaluation, the sharing of good practice, audit of strengths and areas for development in terms of staff training and development needs, as an ‘aide memoire’ for lesson planning, to identify a whole school/subject focus for improving inclusive teaching and learning.
