Eastern Regional Science Centre

The official national announcement of the Eastern Regional Science Centre took place in London in October 2003.

A national network of regional science learning centres is being set up to provide high quality continuing professional development to science teachers and technicians.

The centres will be managed by Universities with others and we are delighted to announce that the Eastern Centre will be sited in Bayfordbury, Hertford. The partners are:

  • University of Hertfordshire
  • Children, Schools and Families
  • Association for Science Education
  • SETPOINT
  • BIO RAD

The centre will be jointly provided by DfES and The Welcome Trust and will provide cutting edge training facilities.

The new centre will open its doors in September 2004.
