Science Learning Centre East of EnglandPress Release - Official opening of the Science Learning Centre East of England, Bayfordbury, Hertfordshire, SG13 8LD, Saturday 18 June 2005, 9.30-16.00 To launch the Science Learning Centre's superb facilities, we are holding a Launch Open Day with a difference. We believe our facilities are the best out of all the regional science learning centres! Come and see for yourself on 18 June 2005; put that date in your diary now. Come and be reconnected with the frontiers of science and the latest techniques for teaching it in primary and secondary schools. What is on offer?A series of 4 cutting edge lectures and 16 workshops throughout the day including Claire Ellis on code breaking and Prof Richard Wiseman talking about 'The Wow Box', as well as tours on the Clinton-Baker Pinetum and Observatory and an extensive exhibition mounted by major publishers, manufacturers and equipment suppliers as well as organisations offering educational resources. How much does it cost to attend?Nothing! You can spend the whole day or just part of it. You will need to register in advance so we can allocate your choice of lectures and workshops as well as prepare your free gifts! What are the benefits of attending?
