Disclaimer: The Hertfordshire Scheme of Work for Secondary Schools was developed in the late 1990's but is no longer in line with the Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2012-2017.
Updates have been made to a number of units in the existing exemplar scheme of work for Key Stage 3 RE, the suggested key questions and examples to support teaching and learning, aim to meet some of the requirements set out in the Hertfordshire Agreed Syllabus for Religious Education 2012-2017.
New units for Years 8 and 9 are as follows :
8a How do Jews show commitment to their identity?
8b Where does the universe come from?
9c Why was the holocaust allowed to happen?
This Scheme of Work provides a model for teaching and learning in Key Stage 3 Religious Education. It is not necessary to follow it in the order it appears on these pages. Some Heads of Departments may wish to adapt the order or substitute suggested activities with successful units from their existing planning.
