Giles Junior School was allocated 20 Year 5 and 6 pupils in the Hertfordshire One to One Tuition pilot. St Mary’s Junior School has 15 Year 6 pupils involved in the Hertfordshire One to One Tuition pilot.  Their tuition sessions take place outside of the school day, and the school has also arranged for some tutoring to take place in the school holidays.  Tutors were sourced from within the existing staff team, as well as through an external supply agency. Goffs School (341)
Goffs School is a larger than average 11-18 secondary, located in Cheshunt. Attainment on entry is higher than average, and the great majority of pupils are White British with about 15% from ethnic communities. The One to One pilot was led by the deputy head and involved a small number of pupils who were tutored in mathematics. More...

The Sele School (247)
The Sele School is a smaller than average 11-18 secondary, serving a broad ability of students. In 2008, Ofsted described the school as ‘Good with outstanding features’. Results have improved year on year for the past four years. The deputy head is currently leading and overseeing the small scale pilot in school, and reports that already, the benefits of One to One tuition are apparent. To date, pupils have gained confidence and have attended all sessions. The deputy head feels confident that future assessments will also reveal progress in attainment for both pupils. More...
