Hertfordshire Guidance for School Census 2007

The Collection and Recording of Pupils’  Language:

From January 2007 all schools will be asked by the DfES to submit information on every pupil’s first language as part of their School Census return.  MECSS has prepared a guidance document for the collection and recording of this data.  This document will be delivered to schools during the first week of term. 

Please find attached the electronic version of the guidance document together with downloadable pdf documents of the translation letters to parents in Urdu, Turkish, Polish, Cantonese, Bangla and Portuguese.
