Catalogue of Resources Recommended to Schools
This catalogue was compiled in order to give schools,and other interested
parties,a guide to recommended Traveller - related resources currently
held at the Hollybush Centre, Fordwich Rise, Hertford.
We
do try to keep to keep at least one copy of the books in the base for
your inspection. Wherever possible resources may be loaned for a limited
period of time.
In the case of the large playtrailer and the story sacks, notice would
have to be given well in advance of requirement to avoid disappointment.

National Holocaust Memorial Day
Download our Holocaust Memorial Day PowerPoint and accompanying text
for assembly. It can be presented by staff or students and also used for
class teaching.
Traveller Related Literacy Hour Plans
These plans were produced by Hertfordshire Traveller Education Service
to introduce schools to texts that have a positive reference to Travellers.
Travellers include Gypsies, Irish Travellers, Fairground and Circus people.
It offers suggestions as to how these texts can be used in the Literacy
Hour.

'Monday Morning' - A Non-Fiction Book with a Traveller
Perspective
'Monday Morning' is a short story book which follows three
children as they get ready for their first day at a new school. The children
come from different homes and cultures.
The book was produced by Hertfordshire
Traveller Education Service and is available in sizes A3, A4 and A5.
The book is also available in CD format. There is a 'teachers pack' with
suggestions
of ways to use the book in the Literacy Hour.
