Continuing Professional Development

The Achievement of Pupils of African Caribbean and Mixed Heritage  

Members of the ACAT (African Caribbean Achievement Team) can provide CPD for staff in schools on raising the achievement of Black pupils. This training is provided free.

Sessions can be planned to meet the needs of particular schools/groups of staff. They may include such aspects as:

  • Data on Black pupils’ attainment (School, Herts, National)
  • Key principles of the ‘Aiming High’ strategy – from principle to practice
  • Hearing the voice of Black pupils and parents
  • A Curriculum which reflects the heritage of Black pupils
  • Learning mentoring: learning from the experience of Black mentors in Herts schools
