Preparing for an InspectionCelebrating your DepartmentMake sure you have written out (just 1 or 2 sides of A4) a list of successes of your department. Have a look at some suggestions… Questions which Inspectors may askPractice answering these questions and other similar ones in role-play situations with other staff!
Data AnalysisAsk your Line Manager, senior management team… or us… for help with this, if you are unsure. In today’s climate middle managers are expected to be totally clued-in to the results and targets of the department, reasons for exceeding or not meeting them… Have a look at some support and suggestions. Self Review of the DepartmentThe majority of schools are involved in a school Self-Evaluation Process… it is a very good idea for departments to mirror this, on a smaller scale.
