This post is jointly funded by Children’s Fund and the Hertfordshire Healthy Schools Programme.
The Healthy Eating Adviser supports schools with the implementation of the new school food guidelines and works closely with Head teachers, staff, pupils, parents and school nurses to improve healthy eating habits and most importantly to understand the reasoning behind the healthy eating message ensuring that changes will be long lasting. This involves working in partnership with the NHS to tackle obesity.
Louise offers the following:
- Support with the new food based standards for all food in schools.
- Development and review of whole school food policies.
- Level 2 training for staff in nutrition.
- Level 2 training for staff in food safety.
- Planning, delivering and evaluating taster sessions workshops.
- Planning, delivering and evaluating healthy lifestyle talks to parents.
- Healthy eating staff meeting.
- Healthy Lifestyle Assembly.
