CYB meets for a 4 day course in the summer holidays
and for one Repertoire Day each term and offers
the exciting opportunity to explore the diverse and
challenging world of Brass Band repertoire.
On courses the conductor is supported by experienced
sectional coaches, and the band work intensively
towards their concert. The band performed in St
John Smith’s Square, London in 2005 and in 2006 the
Weston Auditorium in Hatfield.
The Band has toured Scotland, France, Holland,
Belgium, Austria, Canada and Switzerland and has also
recorded a number of times in its history. A CD looking
back at 30 years of the band is currently available.
Repertoire days are also provided once a term to
develop the ensemble’s repertoire knowledge as well
as being an opportunity for less experienced players to
spend time with the band.
Recently the Friends association has confirmed that they
will part fund the purchase of new cornets for use by
players in County Youth Brass.
