Hertfordshire Gifted and Talented Conference 2008‘Releasing and Realising Potential in All’120 delegates attended the second Hertfordshire Gifted and Talented Conference at the Hertfordshire Development Centre on February 21st 2008 and experienced a rich programme of keynote addresses and workshops. Two of the most high profile and internationally renowned names in the field of Gifted and Talented education, who had addressed the World Conference in the summer, began and ended the day.
Professsor John Geake, founder of the Oxford Cognitive Neuroscience Education Forum at Oxford Brookes University, closed the conference with a fascinating address on ‘The Gifted Brain’. This gave insight into current research into brain activity and it was particularly useful for delegates to receive information regarding classroom implications of this research. Comments from delegates: “Superb presentations, very impressive” “Blew apart old theories, made sense and was recognisable in my experiences” “Refreshingly new perspectives” “Inspirational” “An amazing opportunity to hear someone so knowledgeable in this field give a presentation”
Delegates also had the opportunity to choose two from twelve different workshops and visit twenty displays/exhibitors.
