Window Box On-line (WBOL) is designed to provide users of Window Box software with ready to use, cross-curricular ICT activities, together with the relevant lesson plans. These can be saved to use off-line, and can then be distributed to class members as appropriate. WBOL also provides useful articles on ICT, Window Box manuals you can download, and other resources.

What is a Window Box?

An RM Window Box is a PC supplied by RM with a full set of pre-installed educational software for Primary schools. If your PC is not a Window Box, you can use WBOL by installing the appropriate Window Box applications.

Activities

A WBOL Activity is a lesson resource for use with a Window Box application. It includes a lesson plan and one or more sample files, all combined in a single file for downloading. All Activities are tried and tested resources created by teachers. They can be almost anything, from clipart to a complete database, or simply an interesting way to use your Window Box programs in class.

Work Box

RM Work Box is a free program that allows you to browse WBOL and download WBOL Activities, organise them, distribute them to your pupils’ desktops, and more. You must have Work Box to download the Activities. You can Weblink logo download it from WBOL.

If you download an Activity for a Window Box application that isn’t installed on your computer, a warning message will appear. You will still be able to download the Activity and read the lesson plan, but you probably won’t be able to use the sample files.

Manuals and Sample Files

WBOL includes online versions of user manuals for different Window Box versions, which you can Weblink logo download and print. Various Weblink logo sample files for Window Box applications are also available for download.
