Autumn 2011

We are delighted to be working closely with Dave Parry who is an independent Design and Technology consultant.

Dave writes for various examination boards and publishers, co-authoring a number of school text books and CD resources. He carries out consultancy and training for the National College and a variety of other agencies, both here and abroad. He was Head of Technology for ten years at Presdales school in Ware, where he now teaches part-time.

Dave is currently preparing two subject leader conferences for our Hertfordshire Design and Technology subject leaders:

• The secondary one is on 4th November 2011 and will include presentations from a number of well respected speakers, including representatives from Middlesex University, OFQUAL and industry who each have a strong perspective on the future of D and T in schools.

The primary one is on 30th November 2011 and will include presentations from a number of well respected speakers, workshop leaders who have a strong perspective on the future of D and T in schools, activities and workshops on using simple hand tools and equipment, African design and technology projects and developing links with local industry.

Dave is also working with our advanced skills teachers to update the D and T section of the Grid website
