Design & Technology Week
24 - 28 June 2002

We are pleased to invite Hertfordshire schools to join us in celebrating Design & Technology Week 2002.

A variety of events will be held at Wheathampstead Development Centre for all key stages. In addition, we will be mounting an exhibition of Design & Technology work from children and young people of Hertfordshire. The display will be mounted in the conference hall at Wheathampstead during the week and a wide cross section of Children, Schools and Families will be invited to share and celebrate the successes of Hertfordshire schools.

In order to facilitate the event we would like to invite schools to submit work for display. Written and practical work will be welcomed.

Please note that for foundation and key stage 1 the session will be for one hour on the morning of Monday 24th June. One of the key stage two sessions will be on food technology and will take place at John F Kennedy RC School in Hemel Hempstead. This is to enable the children to work in a specialist environment to carry out practical work.

Five schools in each key stage will be assigned places in each session for 9 children/young people who are gifted and talented design technologists. A member of staff will be required to accompany the children/young people to the event. Transport to Wheathampstead Development Centre will be the responsibility of the school and the children will require a packed lunch. Final details will follow early next term.
