IntroductionHertfordshire enjoys a full and active programme of Dance within its schools from Early Years through to Post 16. As an authority we strongly value Dance in terms of the physical, aesthetic and social attributes it brings to the wider curriculum and support schools, teachers and pupils in their desire to create, perform and analyse dance.
Hertfordshire is now fortunate to boast a strong partnership with essexdance who have been contracted to help deliver specific dance projects across Hertfordshire. There is also a well-established Hertfordshire County Dance Teachers' Association. This is an association run by a committee of teachers and co-ordinated by the Adviser for Dance. It provides a valued centre of expertise and organises, amongst other initiatives, a spectacular bienniall Dance Showcase enabling many pupils from all phases to perform in a professional theatre. The Hertfordshire Integrated Arts Strategy, alongside the launch of the Arts Council Artsmark Award and the considerable interest in specialist Arts and Sports College Status, has served to promote dance still further. Dance activity, commitment and enthusiasm within Hertfordshire is Inspirational …….. the potential is enormous! The Dancing Nation
