2001 Hertfordshire Schools' County Dance FestivalVenue: The Alban Arena This year's County Dance Festival entitled "The Arts in Collaboration" proved to be a magnificent celebration of dance achievement in our Hertfordshire Schools.
The programme consisted to twenty-three items from Primary, Secondary and Special Schools across the authority. It was an entirely non-competitive event and included three hundred children. The items depicted various historical, cultural and creative interpretations linking other art forms with various styles of dance. The standard of the performances was outstanding and stands up as a testimony to us all of the power of dance as an art form and its value within education. The bi-annual festival was organised jointly by the County Dance Teachers' Association Committee and Clare Mellish (Hertfordshire's Adviser for Dance).
