Highfield School has Leading Edge status. One of the strands for their successful bid was their teaching and learning strategy.

The practical policy document, ‘Learning to Succeed’, was developed over a year. It includes tips and strategies for:

Starters, Building Success for All, Lesson Structure, Planning, Differentiated Material, Sharing Learning Objectives, Purposeful Pace, Effective Questioning, Using Positive Language, Peer and Self Assessment, Plenaries.

The school also produce a ‘Learning to Succeed Newsletter’ . This combines the ‘tips ‘ and strategies with real lesson accounts.
