Art & Design in Hertfordshire

Hertfordshire has a long tradition of successful teaching and learning in art and design in all key stages. A particular feature, which has developed over recent years, has been artist-in-residence activities, with schools undertaking projects with artists and designers.

County Art Collection

In addition, many schools have taken the opportunity to use the County Art Collection Schools Loan Service as a stimulus for pupils' work, bringing them into contact with original works of art, including works from a variety of cultures. The collection, which began in the 1940s, contains 1500 items. They are used to stimulate pupils in all they do.
