The theme of this year’s special schools headteacher conference was ‘Moving towards sustainability in special schools’. Keynote speakers and seminar sessions will address key issues of the theme and examine current issues facing special schools. Keynote speakers included:

2007 Conference

27-28th September 2007 - "Leadership in Changing Times"

The Hertfordshire Special Schools Headteachers' conference took place on the 27th and 28th September at the Old Ship Hotel in Brighton.

The conference explored 'Leadership in Changing Times' with a range of speakers sharing both national and local perspectives. Keynote speakers included:

  • Toby Salt, Strategic Director for School Leadership Development, NCSL
  • Russell Prue, an inspirational speaker specialising in invigorating and leading ICT
  • Olivier Mythodrama, a creative approach to inspirational leadership.

In addition, a series of seminar sessions on the first day of the conference showcased examples of best practice from Special School Headteachers from other counties.

With opportunities for group discussion and networking with colleagues the conference was a great success and a valuable couple of days that were not to be missed!
