Integrated Children’s Services

Integrated Children’s Services makes sure that preventative and targeted services are delivered in a joined up way. Services are delivered locally through children’s centres and extended schools and there are clear referral pathways into specialist services.

This will benefit schools because it supports a flexible, holistic and consistent way of meeting the individual needs of children and their families, and hopefully schools will feel better supported with the difficult issues that some of their families face. In time will lead to a quicker more and effective response, as this practice becomes more embedded with all agencies.

Integrated Children’s Services incorporates close working with partner agencies through the Hertfordshire Children’s Trust Partnership (HCTP) arrangements.

The trust arrangements provide frameworks to support the pooling of resources and ensure that all agencies within the partnership have shared priorities and clear ways of addressing them.

Integrated Practice

Integrated practice is working with professionals across agencies to deliver services in a more coordinated way. A series of tools will be introduced to support this way of working. These include the Common Assessment Framework (CAF), ContactPoint and the Lead Professional role.

These tools will help professionals share information in an efficient and coordinated way to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
