Extended Opportunities

Extended Opportunities funding is now available across Hertfordshire.

Extended Opportunities is the Hertfordshire brand of the government’s Disadvantage Subsidy and is now available through all schools.

The funding is part of the extended services drive to narrow the gap in attainment and improve wellbeing of children and young people. The funding supports access to a range of exciting, high quality, out of school hours activities for children who are economically disadvantaged and may be considered to be vulnerable, extended opportunitiesthis includes children looked after

 

Extended Opportunites County Wide Roll Out

District based launches across the county during May were extremely well attended and have provided the opportunity for partnership working and a greater understanding of the programme.

Extended Opportunities Toolkit

A toolkit has been launched to support schools and providers in implementing the programme in their communities:

Instructions of use for MS Word documents in the toolkit
1.        Click on the directed link to download your required MS Word document
2.        Save to your local drive i.e. Desktop
3.        Open the document in MS Word
4.        Fill in required fields onscreen
5.        Print onto headed paper.

Alternatively
If you do not have pre printed headed paper, please print out your headed template onto paper and reinsert into printer to print off Extended Opportunities branded templates.

 

2009-10 Pilot

A successful pilot during 2009 has informed the roll out of the Extended Opportunities across the county from May 2010. The evaluation report of the pilot is available on the Herts Extended Schools website at:
