Annual Report to the Governing Body on Safeguarding Children

An annual report to the governing body on safeguarding children must be completed to enable:

The Governing Body to monitor compliance with the requirements of Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education (DfES 2006)
The Local Authority to monitor compliance with the above, in particular the existence and operation of appropriate safeguarding policies and procedures, and the training for staff including the DSP.

This report will be completed and submitted to the Child Protection Schools Liaison Team. The DSP should retain a copy of the report for auditing and reporting purposes.
