Standards and School Effectiveness (SSE)
Standards and School Effectiveness provides a range of services to
improve standards and
quality in all Hertfordshire schools. SSE focuses on providing services for schools, school leaders, other
school staff and governors
through a range of advice, support, consultancy and training.

Training
Each term a programme of Continuing Professional Development is published for Primary,
Secondary and Support Services on national and local education and wider ECM initiatives and
areas identified by schools. Details of our full training programme are available to view at
Conferences
SSE co-ordinates an extensive leadership and national conference programme for headteachers,
other senior leaders, middle leaders, teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and governors.
The conferences provide delegates with an excellent opportunity to hear high profile national
speakers, keep up to date with educational 'hot' topics, share good practice and network
with colleagues.
Consultancy
SSE operates a comprehensive consultancy and advisory service to all
schools in
Hertfordshire including:
- School reviews
- Departmental and subject reviews
- Analysis of curriculum documentation
and school policies
- Support for monitoring and observing classroom practice
- Leadership
and management training and school based consultancy
- Specialist support for
subject leaders, early years,14-19, ethnic minorities and
whole school special needs issues
- Target setting
- Pupil achievement
