End of Key Stages & Foundation Stage

Below are the documents and resources required for schools to complete the statutory End of Key Stage returns, using Assessment Manager 7 in SIMS. The documents have also been sent to schools by post.

Note: Some of the processes this year are very different from previous years and so it is vital that the steps in all the documents are followed carefully and completely!

Known Issues

Any issues raised that will affect schools’ ability to complete these returns will be posted here. Please also refer to the FAQ section at the back of each document before contacting the ICT Services Desk.

CTF Validation on P-Scales

We are aware that the CTF process in SIMS is not validating any P-Scale grades that are included or missing from the pupil records. Please ensure therefore that the steps in the documents are followed carefully, including a member of SLT checking the data on all the marksheets and authorising the return BEFORE the CTFs are created and submitted.

AnyComms Plus Website Address

Schools will be notified by the Data Collection & Business Information Team of a change to the AnyComms Plus website address. This means that the address quoted in the submission sections of the documents for EYFSP, Phonics and KS1 will no longer be correct. You will instead need to use https://secure-edu.hertfordshire.gov.uk/ to access the correct site to upload your data.

Advice on Grades in KS2 TAs

Some schools have queried the order of the grades on Page 8 of the KS2 document. Please note that the information in the documentation provided by ICT Services is to guide you through how to submit your Teacher Assessment data and is not designed to help you make judgements on which grades are appropriate; teachers should refer to the statutory frameworks (e.g. the ITAFs and ARAs) from the DfE/STA for this detail. Queries regarding which grades to use when assessing a child should be directed to the Assessment Team.

Recording Absent or Disapplied in the Phonics Screening Checks

It has been noted by the Data Collection & Business Information Team that several schools have recorded a Mark of zero for children they have graded as either Absent or Disapplied. As per our guidance schools MUST NOT record a zero for these children, as when the threshold is added to the marksheets these children will be graded as Wt by the marksheet calculations. You will therefore need to ensure these zero marks are removed before the thresholds are entered w/c 27th June 2016. If you require help in deleting these marks, which cannot be removed by pressing the Delete key on the keyboard, then please contact the SITSS Service Desk.

Missing Year 1 Phonics Data

It has been identified that Year 1 Phonics Screening Data is not being imported correctly from CTFs downloaded from the Key to Success website. Please follow the instructions in the Appendix of the document to entered these missing results manually.

Timetable for returning End of Key Stage data
