It is also one of the most successful, having won awards from the National Music Council on six separate occasions. The Music Service is also committed to supporting our most vulnerable and disaffected children and young people with a range of projects and activities to support access, inclusion and engagement including SEND Arts Awards and a Remission of Fees scheme.

With over 600 specialist instrumental and vocal teachers, the Music Service delivers instrumental tuition through schools and also through a network of Music Centres. There is a comprehensive programme of holiday and community activities from family jams to community choirs as well as the County Youth Music Groups that include the nationally acclaimed Hertfordshire County Youth Orchestra.
