TDA 4-Day Induction Training Courses for Newly Appointed Teaching Assistants
This training follows the Training and Development Agency (TDA) national programme for newly appointed
teaching assistants to enable them to understand the role and to support
teachers effectively in raising the standards in literacy and numeracy.
In particular the course looks at role and context, behaviour management
and literacy and numeracy support.
The course is for those teaching assistants appointed within the previous
12 months. It consists of 4 days of training which is a mixture of tutor input, discussion and DVD extracts. As with all newly appointed teaching assistants, it is helpful if an experienced
teacher or senior TA can act as a mentor in school.
