Single Central RecordBy the 1st April 2007 all schools should have put in place a complete and up to date single central record (SCR), in accordance with the DCSF guidance “Safeguarding Children and Safer Recruitment in Education”. The team has been set up by the Council to assist schools in their safeguarding responsibilities by assessing their Single Central Record. This should help highlight any issues so when an Ofsted inspection occurs the schools record will be complete. The team will be available to assist with queries and provide support. The template spreadsheet incorporates current safeguarding recruitment practice. Guidance has been written to assist in its completion (please see below). This assessment will run on a rolling programme and each school has been contacted in advance with the date of their assessment. Schools wishing to begin this work in advance of their scheduled start date can download all required information through the links below. Please direct all queries to the contact details below. Due to the sensitive nature of its content, the Single Central Record should be submitted on the new template through Anycomms, a confidential network for CSF. Further information is listed in the guidance below.
