Lead working groups on specific whole school issues

Become an examination marker/assessor

Investigate opportunities and training for middle leadership e.g. shadow a middle leader

Provide opportunities for:

- coaching colleagues

- mentoring NQTs and others

- running master-classes for teaching and support staff

- presentations to governors and other stakeholders

Provide leadership opportunities to improve teaching and learning in school

Undertake outreach work in local schools

Lead best practice workgroups or clusters

Attend networks of subject co-ordinators / HoDs / pastoral leaders / leaders of learning

Participate in local networks and/or LA training

How will I use LA support?

Support your outreach work via meetings and conferences

Contribute to LA CPD opportunities

Undertake accredited research e.g. Cambridge Masters programme in conjunction with CSF

Participate in leading teacher programmes/networks

Update knowledge of national developments e.g. through browsing GTC, TDA, ELC websites and subscriptions to professional publications
