CareersPreparation for Employment and Career Planning AwardsThere are a number of new qualifications, which have recently been approved by QCA for inclusion in Section 96 and these include the following: ASDAN Foundation for Work: This is a new short course award for students engaged in Work Related activities. This is a 60 hour programme, which offers students a choice of challenges from eight different sections. The programme will enable students to use their portfolio to collect evidence for: key skills achievement at levels 1 and 2, the Career Planning Qualification at levels 1 and 2 and to claim credits towards ASDANs Silver and Gold Awards. Also available are two newly integrated qualifications packages in the 14-19 suite:
City and Guilds; Certificate in Preparing for Employment: This Certificate is at Entry Levels 2 and 3 and has been designed to recognise the small steps of learning and acquisition of skills that some students make. Although primarily targeted at post-16 students, some schools, especially special schools may find the framework helpful.
