Online Resources For SchoolsA number of Hertfordshire schools are now subscribing to online information resources for students to use alongside books and the internet. These subscription resources provide students with trustworthy, up-to-date and fully searchable information that can form a firm foundation for their research. JCS Online Resources
Most of the resources are aimed at secondary schools; however JCS are at present trialling and reviewing resources with a view to increasing the range available to primary schools. JCS are currently negotiating with e-book providers to enable them to offer an e-book and audiobook package to schools. For more information about the wide range of resources available, and for details of how to request free trials, visit the JCS web site: For other enquiries and for information about the buying group please contact Tina Warren at Herts SLS. OUP Online Resources
The discount available to schools is 23% off the OUP list price for all Hertfordshire schools, plus a further 3% off for state schools. There are also price advantages in buying bundles of resources - for example by subscribing to three resources. If you are interested in trialling a new resource, please contact Kristian Lafferty at OUP (Kristian.Lafferty@oup.com) for a quote and to arrange trials - please quote HERTFORDSHIRE SLS when enquiring. Online resources available through Hertfordshire LibrariesSome online resources are available through Hertfordshire Public Libraries: Please be aware that the resources available from this source are for individual members of Hertfordshire Libraries and the licence does not permit their use in a school setting and by teachers in schools. However, those pupils who have access to the internet at home and who are members of the public library will be able to use the resources for homework.
