Hertfordshire Schools Library Service

“A well-managed school library is an essential part of any school’s success. As the school landscape is set to change drastically it is essential that the benefits of this vital resource are understood.”

Baroness Estelle Morris talking about ‘School Libraries: a plan for improvement’, September 2010

A School Library to be proud of

The aim of the Hertfordshire Schools Library Service is to help school staff create a school library to be proud of: a library that will have a positive impact on pupil achievement.

Based in Hatfield, the Schools Library Service is a small team of committed, dedicated staff with expertise in children’s literature and libraries, serving all schools including independent schools and academies.

Our staff will support you in the development of your school library. We can provide access to up to date resources and help you make reading for pleasure and information both motivating and fun for your pupils.
