A very good resource for schools.

This guidance explains the new duty; how an accessibility plan can be developed so that it incorporates the requirements of an equality scheme; how to develop the scheme through a staged approach. This resource contains a template for a Disability Equality Scheme.

Guidance for Governors, Headteachers, teaching and support staff working in schools in England and Wales

This explains what the duty to promote disability equality means, with some practical examples. It also gives advice on producing a Disability Equality Scheme and how it differs from an Access plan.

Disability Rights Commission

The DRC provides a range of guidance on meeting the equality duty. This leaflet is entitled ‘A guide for schools’ and includes a summary of schools’ duties and suggestions for implementing the new law.
