Heads of Science Conference
This is an annual event in the Autumn term. The agenda reflects latest developments and initiatives in science education and provides an opportunity for discussion and networking between subject leaders. An exhibition of exam boards, publishers and our partners is available for browsing.
The next conference will be on:
Subject Leader's Development Meetings (SLDMs)
These are a mechanism for disseminating the messages of the Secondary National Strategy to all secondary schools. Subject leaders will be invited to attend these in the Spring and Summer terms please look out for fliers in school.

New KS3 Curriculum
Human, Plant and Animal Behaviour Booklets from Norfolk County council Consultants were distributed to assist with planning to teach this strand in the new KS3 curriculum.
Peter Hart asked for ideas on Bias to help in the production of Hertfordshire’s booklet on this subject which is developing apace and will be published shortly to assist with planning to teach this skill in the new KS3 curriculum.
Peter Nickson, Mount Grace, talked through the use of Upd8/Wikied as a tool to write a contextual and exciting new curriculum:
Ruth Evans, Adeyfield, talked through her school’s approach to the new KS3.
KS4
Louise Baldwin gave a PowerPoint presentation about Marlborough’s experience of delivering the Science BTEC.
Peter Hart fed back the findings from the KS4 evaluation survey which was done as a starter activity for the day.
