Coursework Package

Overarching Objective

We are learning to prepare pupils for coursework involving the presentation of a scientific argument.

eg: 21st Century Science - Case Study
Gateway Science - Science in the News

Overarching Outcome

Pupils are in a position to maximise their score for their coursework on scientific argument.

Using the Package

The materials are not presented as a series of lesson plans. Instead they are grouped under different objectives with an underlying logical development. However, it is up to individual teachers to decide which of the materials they wish to use and in what sequence.

Different teachers may wish to stress different parts of the package and spend longer on them or to ignore parts of the package. Indeed, an individual teacher may choose to use different parts of the package and in different sequences with different classes to suit their strengths, needs and preferred learning styles.
