Hertfordshire PSHE Network Groups

Summer Term 2012 for Primary, Independent and Secondary Schools new

These meetings are now well established in the county and have the following format:

  • For each phase, primary and secondary, two network meetings will be held in two different venues in the county.
  • Colleagues are invited to attend whichever venue is most convenient. The agenda will be the same for both.
  • The meeting will cover issues that will support subject leaders to develop effective and innovative PSHE policy and practice in school.
  • Meetings will be held from 4.15 – 5.30 pm (refreshments will be available from 4 p.m.)

The meetings are a unique opportunity to network with colleagues in other schools, to share good practice and to hear about the national and local perspective on PSHE. Visiting speakers from organisations that support PSHE in school are regularly featured on the agenda.

At our most recent network meetings colleagues commented:

  • “this is a wonderful opportunity to hear the latest on PSHE & C”
  •  “the handouts have been so useful and I can put the ideas into practice straight away in school!”
  •  “this is the best twilight meeting I have attended, I always learn something new!”

At the end of the meeting there is an opportunity to have a short guided tour of the host school to look at their PSHE learning environment.  Many colleagues have commented on how inspirational and useful this is.
