Hertfordshire’s Sex Education in Schools policyThis guidance replaces Hertfordshire’s Sex Education in Schools policy published in 1996. It reflects the DfEE Sex and Relationship Education Guidance, which was published in 2000 and takes account of the revised National Curriculum Personal Social and Health Educuation (PSHE) and Citizenship Frameworks and Programmes of Study, National Healthy Schools Standard (NHSS) and the Social Exclusion Unit Report on Teenage Pregnancy.

Key Messages about Sexual Offences Act 2003In June we circulated all CSF schools with a summary of key messages for school staff and pupils about the new Sexual Offences Act 2003, which came into force in May 2004. The offences in the Act have been developed to enable the prosecution of abusive and exploitative sexual activity. To achieve this the age of consent for girls and boys regardless of sexuality, is 16.
