Music in the Curriculum
HMS has a larger team of consultants and workshop leaders than any other music service or provider, all of whom are leading edge specialists and are equally at home delivering pupils or teacher focused work. Hertfordshire Music Service consultants and workshop leaders are leading edge practitioners with high levels of specialism within music education and present in an interactive and engaging manner. We work with a wide range of partners from the music profession, for example the ‘Count Us In project (2010) in partnership with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to promote ensemble learning in Herts Challenge secondary schools. Support for your school may be targeted at a specific area of musical learning or age group, or contribute to a strategic overview. The support will result in raised attainment by increasing the quantity and quality of student engagement and by teachers learning to deliver best practice in partnership with music professionals. It has often been reported that raising standards in music can contribute significantly to learning and progress in other areas, by raising the 4 C’s -confidence, coordination, cooperation and concentration of learners.
