Departmental Handbook

What Should Be In It?

There is no MUST as to what should be in your Handbook! What follows is advice from the Mathematics Advisory Team.

Examples

Example from St Joan of Arch School new

Thanks for supplying this example of a Department Handbook.

Example of a Generic Contents page…

The following is an example only of a Contents page, purely to be used as a starting point, if you need one. It is important that your Department Handbook contains what is applicable to your department.
A Department Handbook should be considered as a working document – all staff should be encouraged to annotate the pages… jot down recommendations for improvement… cross through irrelevant/outdated information… The Handbook can then be updated at the end of the school year.
