Smoking Out UnderachievementThis excellent booklet, which has been prepared by the Fischer Family Trust working with the School Improvement and Excellence Division of the DfES, has been written to provide schools with guidance, advice and examples to increase their understanding and use of 'value added' data.
Pupil Achievement Tracker (PAT)Schools are now being strongly encouraged to make use of PAT (Pupil Achievement Tracker). The software allows schools and LEAs to import and analyse their own pupil performance data against national performance data. There are four main areas of analysis possible in the PAT:

National & County FiguresThe Joint Council for General Qualifications is a very good source of national data. Hertfordshire's Assessment Team provides a range of data and information to support schools. This can be accessed at: Fischer Trust DataIncreasingly schools are making good use of the data available form The Fischer Family Trust Performance Project. Helping LEAs and Schools to make more effective use of Performance Data is a key focus of this project and provides a range of analyses to support self-evaluation, assessment and target setting. Hertfordshire LEA is a partner in the project. The data is provided to each Hertfordshire school.
